This business is owned by founder, Alan Tada who embarked on this journey in 1977 starting out as a wood rose wholesale business selling to various gift shops working out of his father’s house with two employees and a dream. Wood roses grow on a vine with distinctive leaves that resemble maple. Tada enjoyed dirt biking and would come across these vines on the many trails he rode around the island. As easy as it may have seemed to simply pick the roses and arrange them, there was a more complex process that was involved. Tada would pick these flowers while they were still capsulized, then would half-dry them and open each capsule in order to prepare them to be smoked in sulfur. With a background in construction, he built his very own large smoking chamber consisting of ten racks and an opening at the bottom where the sulfur would enter from. This process not only purified the flowers ridding them of any bugs, but also chemically enhanced a white color that would have longer-lasting effects. The first customer he sold to on a regular basis was Spouting Horn concessions. At .50 cents a stem, he roughly sold 2,000 of them a month to this concession stand who would give these single stems to customers as an incentive to come back. From here he expanded to more gift shops such as, Happy Kauaiian which was owned by Big Save, Top-to-Toe, and India Imports. This was the beginning of his journey as a successful florist and overall business man.

Flowers Forever is a full-service flower shop that offers ready-made cash and carry products such as a variety of beautiful leis, lei po`o (head leis), and various other arrangements, along with flower arrangements such as funeral wreaths, casket sprays, standing sprays, wedding arches, bouquets, boutonnieres and wrist corsages, hair-pieces, and much more. This flower shop also has a set-up and delivery service that is in operation Monday through Sunday. The shop’s hours of operation are 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm on Fridays, and the storefront is closed on the weekends. Although the storefront is closed on the weekends, the shop is still busy working to organize set-up and deliveries for funeral services and weddings. The shop offers customers a few different ways to get in contact to place orders as well as platforms for social customer care such as, calling the shop directly to place a phone order, ordering online for web orders, or coming into the shop in person to place an order.
